Jim Surra - The Man

In the beginning, Jim was taught automotive mechanics, electrical, painting and much more by his father John, an Industrial Arts teacher. He loved every aspect of those. In college he went on to learn Drafting, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Arts Technology, and much more.
Jim quickly found himself working on Dental and Medical equipment. He spent over 4 decades honing his skills, regarded coast to coast as a top-ranked Technician. He passed the torch, constantly taking eager new Technicians under his wing, sharing his knowledge.

Dental Equipment Repairs

Although we specialize in Sterilizers, Jim Surra repairs every and any type or brand of Dental Equipment. Contact Us or Call us to see if we work on your Dental equipment.  Note that we don’t sell Dental equipment or Sterilizers. We repair equipment, and we feel selling new equipment is a conflict of interest. We have a number of other Dental Supply Houses that we trust and we do work for, and we can put you together with them and trust them to take care of your equipment needs.

We pride ourselves at repairing your Sterilizers right in your office! Tougher jobs can be taken to our shop, but those are rare.

As Jim Surra’s Technicians are highly trained in Medical Equipment, it comes as no surprise that we’re also familiar with most of the equipment found in a typical Veterinary practice. And we’ve heard many times what a blessing it is that we repair Autoclaves and Sterilizers right there on site. To us it’s all the same. Keeping you on track is our priority. New technicians are trained extensively, monitored by experienced technicians, and are trained to consult the factory for Technical Support when needed. Professional Service

There’s no doubt; service isn’t what it used to be. You call a Dental Supply house for a service call. A technician arrives, and he’s new. You haven’t seen him before. He pokes around at the piece of equipment. He’s green, and it shows. Barely pulls a wrench or screwdriver out of his way-too-new tool bag. After less than an hour, having done nothing to speak of, he says, “You need a new one. This one can’t be repaired.”  You watch him leave, then make some calls until you can get an experienced technian to come by. He makes a few adjustments, or installs a few parts, and you’re up and running. The truth? Both technicians are offered “Perks” by their respective companies. The green Tech doesn’t even bother to call Technical Support. He goes for the cash. The second Tech is experienced, takes pride in his work, and the only way he’s getting a perk is if your equipment really IS too far gone for practical repair. Life's too short for each of us to be enemies with each other. Jim Surra has worked for most of the big supply houses, and quite a few of the smaller houses. We presently maintain a contractual working relationship with 3 supply houses, and we do Autoclave and Sterilizer repairs for MOST of them, especially when there's a tougher problem that needs the toughest problem solvers out there. Nobody likes to lose a customer, and Jim Surra can discreetly help you keep YOUR valuable customer.
